2019 Italy Trip

Italy Partnership

In 2017, I went with five other pastors/leaders from our area on a “Vision Trip” to Northern Italy to explore a missions partnership. We prayed and collectively committed to a partnership with a small church in Belluno, Italy. Below is a blog post about that trip, describing the beginnings of our partnership:

Team

We took a team of 12 from FCC. Here are just a few of the group photos in a variety of settings.

Praying and Sowing

Our church took it’s first mission trip in 2018 and just returned from our second trip (June 2019). Our primary ministry was to sow seeds of the Gospel, prayer walk the city, and encourage the church in Belluno. Here are some pictures of our team prayer walking and having Gospel conversations:

Dinner at the Croce’s

One highlight (of many!) was dinner at Gabriel’s home. Gabriel had visited our area last year and his parents wanted to express their appreciation to us taking good care of Gabriel. We feasted! We laughed! It was a night we won’t soon forget. We invited other Italians to come see us. Gabriel’s younger brother might come in 5 years! 🙂

Ladies’ Night

Our ladies prepared a night for the ladies of our partner church. It was a great night of prayer, blessing, and fellowship. Here are a few pics!

Worship

Our time of worship was special with our partner church in Belluno. Our team shared 4 testimonies (including our 12 year team member!), sang “God of the City” in Italian, and preached. Singing in Italian with the church’s worship team was amazing. Here are just a few pictures.

Picnic with the Church

After worship we had a wonderful picnic. It was in a beautiful setting with amazing food. It was relaxing. We were there for 4 hours just enjoying the rich fellowship that God has created.

The Dolomites

On Saturday, we drove up to the Dolomite mountain range just short of the Austrian border. We walked two miles around a lake surrounded by the mountains. It was beautiful.

Verona

We took Monday to tour Verona. It’s home to the oldest Colosseum in Italy and of course, Romeo and Juliet!

This is not only a partnership with one church in Belluno, but also several churches from our local area. Miner Baptist Church went to Belluno in the end of May and FBC, Scott City will go in September. Lord willing, we will go back in 2020. Would you prayerful consider if you should go to Italy or support those whom God calls.

For the Kingdom!
